Hi there! We are a group of six strangers who met one year ago in Physician Assistant school. This unlikely bunch became "The Study Buddies." After many long nights and never ending hours of studying (even in public restaurants all over town) we became more than just classmates. Now we are life-long friends with a shared passion for medicine and helping others.
We will graduate in August 2017 with Master's degrees in Physician Assistant Studies and will begin long, full-filling careers in our respective communities. But before our careers take us to different places, we desire to put our new found medical knowledge to use and travel across the world to help those in need who do not have the means to receive proper treatment and care.
It is our wish to travel to a village in Ghana, Africa and do anything and everything possible to provide medical services and safe care for a community who would otherwise have no access. We believe that it is everyone's right, as a human being, to get necessary medical attention regardless of class, culture, or location. This opportunity to give back will only realistically come around one time for us. Once we start our separate lives and families, we will not be able to get the group back together or be able to take the time off required for such a trip.
We are planning a one month service trip in September of 2017. It would mean the world (aka the distance to Ghana and back) to us if we were able to make this trip come to life and possibly save lives in the process. There would be no better start to our future as PAs.
Please help us give back to the best of our ability, and know that we truly and deeply appreciate anything that is donated to this cause. Thank you so much.
