Chuck And Willow Yager Family

This is Chuck, Lori and Willow's story as told by Lori:

We were married May 10, 2014. July of 2014 we found out Chuck had cancer. They started in patient treatment in August of 2014 in iowa city. Shortly after he started treatment we found out I was pregnant. Treatment continued for Chuck.  April 1 of 2015 Willow was born. All was good until November of 2015 Willow had gotten sick. Many doctors visits later we found out she had cancer as well. They did surgery on her tumor and it came back a week later. They tested her and Chuck at that time because they were surprised that it came back so quickly and that they both had it. They tested them for a Li- Fraumeni gene. This is a gene that causes cancer.  They both tested positive.

They decided to start radiation on Willow and do chemo treatments at the same time. She did one month of radiation therapy and continues to do chemotherapy.  About a month ago Chuck started to feel a little off. He went to a few Doctor appointments and they hadn't found anything.  His doctors were baffled. So, they did a pet scan and it came back positive for cancer again. They found a tumor in his hip again, one in his lymph node in his groin, his lymph node in his neck, one in his back, and 2 in his brain.

They decided to start chemotherapy again the following Monday, Inpatient treatment in iowa city. They also decided at that time to do whole brain radiation to get rid of the tumors in his brain and to omit any tumor seeds that may be there. Willow is continuing treatment on a weekly basis in iowa city and day is doing daily radiation therapy as well as continuous chemotherapy treatments.

Chuck is staying at his mom's who drives him to iowa city daily for his treatments.

Lori, willow's mom and chuck's wife, works at Subway and coaches tumbling. Her 4 sisters are very involved with their treatments and are a huge help to the family.

Lori grew up in Ellsworth and graduated from South Hamilton. Their family continues to live in Ellsworth.

I'm asking everyone to pray for their family,  and please give generously to help ease their burden in anyway that we can.
