Mariah's Maternity Leave Fund
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
My name is Mariah. I work at a nursing home as a CNA. I take care of people for a living and I really love what I do. I one day hope to become an RN. I have all my prerequsites done and I am just waiting to be accepted into the nursing program. However, I have been blessed with an unexpected gift. I am currently pregnant and my due date is October 17, 2016. Unfortunately, my job does not offer paid maternity leave. I cannot afford to take off of work for more than 2 weeks to take care of my precious newborn. If you have been a breastfeeding mother, then you already know that it is not easy to establish breastfeeding and introduce a bottle to a newborn within 2 weeks. It is recommended that I introduce the bottle to my newborn at 3-5 weeks old and to introduce the bottle 2 weeks before returning to work. That means in order to give my newborn a decent fighting chance, I will need at least 5 weeks of maternity leave. I am hoping for 6 weeks.
I am setting up this gofundme page in hopes that I can raise enough money to pay for the bills that I have in the 6 weeks that I hope to be on maternity leave. I have been blessed with so much by my friends and family already. I am so thankful for all of the help that I have already received and I will be even more thankful if you can help me reach my goal of $1,000. Every penny counts! Thank you all so much!
