AJ Stylez Barbershop Fund

Allow me to introduce myself I am "AJ" of AJ Stylez Barbershop. I started Cuttin hair at the ripe age of 11yrs old after my Father put my very first pair of clippers in my hands and told me to cut his hair. Of course I jacked his hair up on the first cut, but the one thing I did know right then & there that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. But life's circumstances steered me down another road, as a Social Worker for individuals with socioeconomical, mental health & other health disparities. Although my career goals changed it didnt mean that I didn't still have goals to own my own babershop. It also didn't mean that I didn't live my job because I loved it immensely. I truely enjoyed helping those who couldn't help themselves. I loved being an advocate for those who couldnt advocate for themselves. I did this for 12yrs all the while still cutting & styling friends and family's hair. Donating my time and skills to shelters and low income areas to those who couldn't afford a haircut.
After 12yrs of service to NY/NJ, the last agency let a bunch of us go due to lack of funds, at which time I felt like it was time to chase my dream of having my own barbershop. So I went back to school obatained an apprentice license, began cutting under much younger barbers Ive learned so much fom those young brothers. I continue to donate some of my time & skills to the community that im working in & its not welcomed. I want to continue serving the community where I will be setting up my shop. Ive already stepped out on my own. Took the last of my savings to purchase some of the equipment that I need to start my own business. Such as my tax id number, my first barber chair, mirrior, etc. Flyers business cards. But now I want to take the next step & open up an official shop where I can become a permanent & positive fixture in that community. I want to hire professional barbers, & stylists. So im asking for some help. This monies will go to promoting my business so that more ppl can find me, so that I can save & expand. So what ever you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.
