Hello,
My name is Hunter Ward and I am in Boy Scout Troop 58. I've been a Scout for about 8 years and I'm training to be a volunteer firefighter in town. Our troop is madeup of kids from Oceanport, Sea Bright and Monmouth Beach, NJ, all communities that flooded in Superstorm Sandy.
About 4 years ago, a park known as Sommer's Boy Scout Park in my hometown (Oceanport, NJ) flooded in Superstorm Sandy. Ever since, the park has been in bad shape, and it often floods, preventing people from crossing the grass to look out on the Shrewsbury River .
Therefore, I am proposing to build a path across the park (this is my Eagle Scout project) and it will stretch from the parking lot all the way to the water. The total cost is about $700. That is why I ask humbly for support for this project. The town has approved the proposal. With your generous donations, we can construct something that will benefit this town for generations to come.
