Help Alexis Margioras

The other day my best friend, Alexis and I saved a man’s life. There was no time to wait for an ambulance, so we had to use Alexis’s car to get him to the hospital. But the crime scene specialists that cleaned the car couldn’t get all of the blood out, and now it’s a biohazard. To make matters worse, it’s Alexis’s only car, and she relies on it every day to transport her 10-month old daughter, Noelle.
We don’t know the man who was bleeding in the back seat. I was visiting Dayton (my hometown) from New York, when Alexis and I heard a man yell, “Help, I’ve been shot!”
Alexis was driving and she immediately stopped and backed the car up to see what was happening.
There was a guy struggling on the ground. We got out to help him, and that’s when I realized he was bleeding profusely from both legs. Other people were walking by, and some were even standing around, but no one was helping him. One of his legs was so bad that I had to use my shirt as a tourniquet to try and stop the bleeding.
Most people still stood back or ignored us, but one guy helped and the three of us got him in the car. The leg with the tourniquet was so bad it wouldn’t bend. There was no time though. We took off for the hospital, 120 MPH.
Blood was gushing out of his legs whole way there, and he kept saying over and over again that he was dizzy and lightheaded and he was about to pass out.
When we got there, Alexis and I ran inside, yelling, “Somebody’s been shot! Somebody’s been shot!” Nurses and doctors came running out and rushed him inside.
Later, the police came and taped off the car because it was part of a crime scene.
One of the nurses told us that if we hadn’t gotten to him and helped him when we did, there’s no way he could have made it with so much blood loss. We still don’t know the guy’s name, but later we heard he was transferred to another hospital in stable condition.
With no other car at Alexis’s disposal, and both of us too broke to afford the repairs, we got a quote of $2,500 and started this GoFundMe campaign because it’s urgent that we get the car fixed ASAP so that it’s safe again for her baby, Noelle.
All the help we can get on this is very greatly appreciated!
