Our Adoption Story

Donation protected
Hello! We are Jennifer and Tiffany. We have been married for over two and a half years and have been in love for almost 4.

Since the start of our dating relationship, we always discussed having children. We both knew from young ages that all we ever really desired in this world was to become parents. In June of 2015, we decided to start fertility treatments to begin our family. We were both really excited at the prospect of building our family. After our first treatment cycle, we discovered we were pregnant! Imagine the elation we felt to know our dreams were going to come true! A positive blood test confirmed our pregnancy. It was a beautiful and joyous moment. However, it was only short-lived when we received a call from our doctor that the pregnancy was not viable. We lost that pregnancy a week later. We were crushed. We continued to fight and pursued three more treatment cycles,  only to have negative results and to be told our chances of having children were very slim unless we pursued IVF.

We pursued IVF In February of 2016. It cost us over $20,000. Unfortunately, we only produced a few embryos from that cycle, and only two made it to transfer. The embryo transfer resulted in a negative pregnancy test. Once again, we were devasted. We didn't know how we were going to move on, but we are both determined. We always knew we would adopt, and felt the calling was stronger than ever.

In June of 2016 we signed on with an adoption facilitator and paid a whopping $17,000. We were excited because we heard good things about her. We do not have a criteria when it comes to adopting. We feel that the right baby will be placed with us. We received a call only a month later that we were chosen! We were over the moon. We even made it to the birth mom's home state in August of 2016 and went to the hospital to meet our hopeful daughter. However, we were told some choice words and told to leave. We were heart broken.

After that situation, we have received a few more situations from the facilitator that seem to be even more demanding when it comes to asking for money. We have paid countless money in birth mother expenses, only to feel like we are being taken advantage of. It has been heart-wrenching.

In October 2016 we signed on with a special needs adoption registry and in December 2016 we signed on with a special needs agency. Both of these agencies are equitable and make us feel like people and not a bank account. We are hopeful we will find our baby through these means.

It is not like us to ask for money. However, it would mean the world to us if you could donate to our puzzle fundraiser. One puzzle piece is ten dollars. If your donation exceeds that, we will put more pieces in your name. We plan to write your name(s) on the back of the pieces to frame in our future child's room. Your donation would always be remembered and appreciated. Thank you so much.

With love,
Jennifer and Tiffany
