Support Fed Suit For LGBTQ Equality

Hi. I’m raising money to help my brother, Matthew, because he is in the midst of a game-changing federal lawsuit that could create strong and much-needed anti-discrimination law for the LGBTQ community.
If Matt wins, it would outlaw sexual orientation discrimination in the Second Circuit, which means discrimination against a person because of their sexual orientation would be ILLEGAL, in just the same way that discrimination based on gender, race, and religion are prohibited. This case could change everything, and set precedent at a federal level in the Second Circuit that could then be used to help protect LGBTQ people from discrimination in other federal districts nationwide.
This would be a momentous step forward in the fight for gay rights at a time when the absence of any such federal protection makes it completely legal under current law to discriminate against gay people based on their sexual orientation (as is being done in states that have enacted anti-LGBTQ laws).
This case is of HUGE importance. So much so, in fact, that 128 members of Congress (including Tim Kaine, Bernie Sanders and Nancy Pelosi) wrote to the court to argue that the court should rule in Matt’s favor. As did The EEOC, Lambda Legal, The National Center for Lesbian Rights, and The ACLU with 17 other organizations.
I’m asking for your help because this is a massive fight for one person to take on alone. It’s Matt versus a multi-billion-dollar global media giant and their cadre of lawyers. This case could go on for a long time - even all the way to the Supreme Court .
If you are gay, care for someone who is gay, or care about equality for all, please stand with Matt and help support his fight for LGBTQ rights – because NOW is the time for the law to change!
