Funds for Kayden's Care

Donation protected

On Sunday, July 31, 2016, my sister Stephanie Echols, along with her friend and her two sons, ages 11 months and 4 yr. old was involved in an automobile accident.  Stephanie, her friend and 11 month old son sustained minor injuries. However, in the accident, her 4 yr. old son Kayden Garrett suffered some life changing injuries. The impact of the vehicle against the median, shattered the bones in his left leg. The team of surgeons tried effortlessly to reconstruct the damages, however, their attempts were unsuccessful. As a result of the extensive damage to Kayden’s leg, the surgeon made a conscious decision to amputate his left leg. This accident proves that a person’s life can change in an instant. Kayden has a long, hard journey ahead of him, one that will prove to be emotionally, physically and financially impoverished.  Once released from the hospital Kayden has to undergo comprehensive therapy and rehab that will teach him to walk again. He will also have a prosthetic leg constructed to fit him, as well as psychological services to help him cope with such a traumatic ordeal. Currently Stephanie is without transportation to get Kayden to his appointments at Scottish Rite Hospital for children. I am seeking funding for a van equipped to meet Kayden’s physical needs. The funds will be withdrawn by Stephanie Echols who will disburse all funds in accordance to Kayden’s medical demands. Any and all contributions made will be greatly appreciated.

Kayden is in great spirits! In the words of Kayden, “NO ONE CAN STOP ME!”
