U16 Waterloo Gold Nationals Journey

The U16 Waterloo Gold Ghosts started their journey last fall.  Over the winter months indoor practices were key to getting to know a few new players mixing in with a core group of 7 that have played together off and on since Mite/Squirt in Waterloo.
A very busy season attending 3 U.S. tourneys which they earned a Silver and Gold Medal at and played many International Tiebreakers going back to back on the Sundays.  Through extreme heat and with some bad injuries this team endured; doing the unthinkable and playing with heart down to the last out. This team has heart and depth and was considered the top team in Ontario by many.
Provincials was a 13 game weekend.  The girls ended up getting to the "if' game vs our own Waterloo Black team and won it to take the Gold Medal and advance as Ontario 1 to Nationals in Montreal. We have a great association with a lot of depth and the Black team proved this!
From Aug 17th-21st this team will compete with 25 of the best in Canada and work towards the medal round.
Lodging, fuel, meals will be part of it and to help the girls and their families out we are hoping to raise some money to offset some of the costs. 
For some teams it is not even a consideration to go due to costs.  We hope to give our players the chance to once again compete at the National level and any support we get from friends, family and community is so appreciated by the team. We know we have always had support in the past and it has made this association such a success!!
We want to Bring Home the Gold to Ontario!!
