C.I. Turtle Tracking Network

EMERGENCY CALL TO ACTION: A few months ago, we released Terri, a loggerhead sea turtle that washed ashore in Jersey, CI. She was flown from Jersey to Gran Canaria where she received further rehabilitation and eventual release in March 2016. We have been tracking Terri's movements ever since, with the help of a satellite transmitter, and have watched her cruise down the West side of Africa and swim along sea mounts and foraging areas in Cape Verde. She has travelled over 3,0000km in nearly 5 months.

But, now it's Olivia's turn! Olivia, another loggerhead sea turtle, washed ashore in Guernsey, CI just shortly after Terri. She has been rehabilitated by the GSPCA and has just been flown to Gran Canaria for further care and release within the next few weeks. We would like to track Olivia and compare her movements to those of Terri’s to eventually build up more information and a better framework regarding the sea turtles that are stranding in the Channel Islands - We want to know where they are going / where they are coming from so that we can enforce better protecting efforts around the globe.

Please consider donating towards tracking Olivia - funds will be used to purchase a satellite transmitter from SiriTrack. The transmitter data will be linked to seaturtle.org so that everyone can follow the movements of tracked sea turtles.
