CALLING ALL SWIMMERS
Do You Have Fond Memories of Swimming at Your YMCA Pool?
YMCA aquatics programs benefit millions of people every year.
· Thousands of Americans learn to swim at their local Y, mostly kids but also a growing number of adults
· Lifeguards and scuba enthusiasts gain needed training and certification at Y pools
· Youth swim team members and master swimming groups train and are sponsored by many Ys, as are Special Olympics Swim Teams
· Aqua-fitness fans use the pool for socializing and exercising
The North Suburban YMCA (NSYMCA) pool in Northbrook, IL provides these benefits and more. Like all pools, ours is expensive to maintain and repair when things breakdown, as they tend to do in a facility that is over 50 years old and in constant use.
The NSYMCA is launching this campaign to raise funds to pay for a new pool filter system, which costs about $40,000. Our old system sprang a leak and although it is functioning with a patch, that won’t last forever. This was an unanticipated, non-budgeted capital emergency. To remain open to our members and summer camperswe must have an adequate, reliable filtration system.
We are asking all individuals who have benefited directly or indirectly from Y aquatics programs to chip in. Any donation – small or large – to help us meet this critical capital need.
We thank you, as do all our members in the 15 communities that we serve.
