Help Army Vet From Homelessness

Hi, I'm Jonathan. I've had a pretty fortunate life for which I grateful for every day, so I feel it's important to give back however I can. I've started this GoFundMe fundraiser because someone who is very close to me reached out for my help, and I need your help.
The person who needs my help is an Army veteran who is suffering from PTSD. He served from 2009 to 2014 and currently lives in Florida. Well, until August 4th. That's when his lease expires and he currently doesn't have enough money to pay for a new place, which requires first month's rent and a deposit that's equal to that ($2000 total). Without this money, my friend will be homeless.
My friend has been looking for work in the past few weeks, and it wasn't until this week that he finally found a job. However, it won't be enough to cover the apartment costs by the time he gets paid.
There are services that are supposed to help verterans find temporary housing in these situations, but my friend has already asked for their help and they have been dragging their feet. By the time they help, it will already be too late.
This is why I'm starting the fund. My friend has exhausted all other avenues and asked me to start this fund as a last-ditch effort to get the money he needs for a place. He is very prideful, and is extremely embarrased that he got himself into this situation and is asking for money. Asking for my help to get money was a big leap for him.
My friend wants to make one thing clear about this fundraiser: this will be a ONE-TIME thing. My friend understands the value of a hard-earned dollar and absolutely does not want to be reliant on hand-outs. He needs help to get out of this situation, and will work diligently to make sure this never happens again.
This person means a lot to me, and I am grateful for his military service. It saddens me that he could be homeless, so I'm hoping that we'll raise enough money to avoid that fate.
I will be very appreciatative with whatever you can contribute. My friend will be as well. For privacy reasons, I do not want to reveal who my friend is. You'll have my word that the money raised in this fund will go directly to him for the purposes of getting a new place.
