Surprise, You're a Mom Now

Donation protected
Hello There.  My name is Jessica and I am setting up this Go Fund Me on behalf of my best friend Amanda Francis.

Amanda found out on Wednesday July 20th 2016 that she was 8 months pregnant.  9 hours later she was having a C Section and gave birth to a 4lb and 3 oz baby boy.

Now you are probably wondering why this was such a surprise.  She had NO IDEA that she was pregnant!
She thought for the past few months that she was just having stomach issues or a possible diabetic issue.  Amanda has always had irregular periods but when these issues first started, as any woman of child bearing age she checked to see if pregnancy was possible and she took 6 different home pregnancy tests and all come out negative.  She chalked up her symptoms to other less serious causes and didn't think anything of it and thought going to the doctor could wait as her job didn't offer medical insurance and she was trying to get insurance through the state but that was taking some time due to typical state insurance hassels.
Finally the proper insurance coverage went into place and she was finally able to see a primary care doctor on Monday July 18th.  She went in for a new patient appointment and a battery of blood tests were run and she was sent home and told she would have the results in a day or two and a follow up appoinment for the next week.

Amanda is an amazing and very artistically talented cake decorator, so on Wednesday July 20th  Amanda went to work as she normally would thinking it would be just another long day in the bakery.  Little did she know that this day would change her life forever.
She started having what she thought were the "worst cramps of her life" accompanied by some bleeding so she went to the local ER.  They did an ultrasound and found she was 8 MONTHS PREGNANT AND IN LABOR!
Needless to say Amanda was very shocked and scared.  She was kept under supervision and transported to Beth Israel in Boston where she would spend the next 9 hours preparing for the C Section that would bring her baby into the world.  Around 5:50 pm she gave birth to a 4 lb 3oz baby boy.  She named him Kellin Edward.

Amanda's job does not offer any type of paid maternity
leave and she is now unable to work for at least the next 6 weeks.  She has very little family to provide any type of support and those family members are not in a position to provide any type of financial assistance.  Which makes this sistuation all the more terrifying for Miss Amanda now that she suddenly has a new totally unexpected baby boy.
She is also facing an issue of needing to find new housing as her current apartment is unsafe for a newborn baby because of lead paint and she has been told that the current apartment is unable to accomdate her due to the safety issue and a size constraint issue.  She lives in the Boston area and the costs of finding a new apartment are astronomical considering most places want first and last rent as well as a security deposit.  Just this cost alone is usually around $3,500

Now this is where your help comes in and is desparately needed.  Amanda needs funds as soon as possible to cover costs for new housing, bills until she can go back to work, diapers, formula, or any other needs for the newborn baby.

Amanda and I both want to thank you in advance for any financial help that you can give.  No donation is to small!  If you are unable to donate, just simply sharing this campagin with others is also a great help.

Let's give Amanda and Kellin Edward the best start possbile to this new phase of their lives.
