Help Vannessa!

Our beloved teacher, healer, and dear friend Vannessa Ewing was in a horrible car accident on Saturday night July 16, 2016. Her car rolled 6 times on Hwy 280. She is very lucky to be alive. She was brought to Stanford Hospital. The accident shattered her elbow and took off the skin on her elbow, and part of her scalp among other injuries. She had a surgery to reduce the fracture on her elbow Sunday morning, a metal plate was put in to stabilize the bones. An initial skin graft surgery was done on Monday. She lost much of her beautiful hair. There is a strong possibility that she will have to have additional surgeries, including an additional skin graft procedure down the road, plus at least one year of physical therapy and rehab. Many of us have had the benefit of Vannessa's extraordinary healing touch. And so many of us have experienced her going above and beyond to help a friend in need. Now she will need the love and support of all of us. Vannessa and Danny will have a long road to full recovery. She will clearly not be able to do massage and body work for quite a while. I'm sure she will find a way back to teaching yoga sooner, but this too will take some time. Please find a way to help. Donations to help Vannessa and her wonderful husband Danny Schwab to cover living costs over the next several months can be made here or sent directly to Vannessa or Danny at their home address, (this site takes an 8% service fee). I'm sure that donations of food, services, and visits will be welcome down the road. Vannessa should be discharged as soon as they can get some effective pain management working for her. In the meantime hold her in your actions, thoughts and prayers.
