Education funds for my friends

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Pedro Acevedo. I'm hosting this campaign on behalf of Ivan Aranaga and Anyinet Salom All funds collected will be transferred directly to them. Please, see their story below. In spanish and english.

Ivan and I graduated less than a year ago as two young Venezuelan journalists. In March 2016, we were given a special scholarship by the Next International Business School , in Madrid, in recognition of our “academic achievements, future potential and motivation in the desired field of study”.

Ivan wants to do a Master in Corporate Communications and Digital Marketing, and my dream is to do a Master in Advanced Political Communication.

While our scholarships cover much of the bill, we still own a substantial amount. Our savings were enough to cover the initial tuition payment of $2000, but unfortunately, we do not have the means to pay for the remaining $10.000, as inflation in Venezuela is over 700 percent and our currency is nearly worthless.

Minimum monthly wage in Venezuela is 15.051 VEF -equivalent to about $13.75- which means that for both us to pay the $10.000, we would have to work for 350 months, or 29 years, saving every single penny, without spending a dime in food, rent or transportation.

We have the brains and we have the character take on this challenge, but we lack the financial means. That is why we are asking for your help, and that is why we ask you to see this as an investment.

With your support, we’ll be able to grow professionally and eventually help others with both professional and educational opportunities, as we are both committed to pay it forward and help our communities.

Classes officially start on October 10th. Please, invest in our future and help us make our dreams come true. Consider this a single link in what will become a long “pay-it-forward” chain.
