The Good News in French Africa

Donation protected
The Church in French speaking Africa is one of the great hidden stories in the English world. Yet they are in the greatest need for assistance from us. This project is designed to act as an opportunity for congregational leaders to know one of the best schools for training pastors and their wives to the work of the Lord.

The more who experience and know first hand the work being done, the greater the opportunity for the dream of helping spread the Good News of Jesus becomes a reality.

This project is designed to take as many people as possible who are in the positions of professional church workers and congregational leaders to the Lutheran Center of Theological Studies (CLET) in Dapaong, Togo.  While there they will serve as participants and observers in the activity of the school through:

1)  Meet and greet opportunities, “round table discussions,” and purposeful presentations with CLET and Francophone African Lutheran leaders,

2)  Discovering the history of Lutheranism in Francophone Africa and of the CLET,

3)  Understanding the needs and challenges of local congregations, national church bodies, and more importantly the CLET, in Francophone Africa, and

3)  Providing continuing education opportunities, and thus encouragement, for the staff of CLET and the professional church workers of the partner churches through the American clergy participating in the project.

They return as ambassadors of support, working with the Office of International Mission of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, to keep the work of the Lord before the eyes and in the hearts of the English speaking congregations.
