Eagle Park BMX is a non-profit organization in need of your assistance. We have 1.3 acres of unfinished landscape and we would greatly appreciate your donations to buy sod! We currently have over $20,000 in donations for the irrigation system but we still need your help with the grass. There are several companies in the valley who are willing to help with this cause, however their assistance will not cover the entire project. This finished area will be for YOU: our racers, families, and spectators! Our goal is to accomplish this before the State Championship that will be held on August 20th. With your donation we can take this BMX facility / City Park to the next level!!
History of BMX:
BMX is currently one of the fastest growing youth sports in North America AND became an Olympic Sport in 2008.
The sport of BMX was created by kids, for kids. Back in the early 1970's, a group of young riders were pretending to be their favorite motorcycle racing heroes by "racing" around a vacant dirt lot, twisting the imaginary throttle while they pedaled their bicycles. Thus, BMX was born.
That desire and vision has evolved into a full-blown sport in which riders compete on established dirt tracks, elevating themselves to "hero" status. A typical race around a BMX track will last about 50 seconds pitting a rider against up to seven other riders all going for the gold. Races are organized according to age group and skill levels, so everyone gets the opportunity to complete at a fair level.
BMX offers every rider the ability to participate at his or her own pace... NO ONE SITS ON THE BENCH! There are no coaches deciding who gets to play, everyone gets into the action.
