Wheelchair Van for Brandon

My name is Geoff, I work for DLC Nurse & Learn, a childcare facility located in Murray Hill on Jacksonville’s Westside. We serve children with special needs, like Brandon. Brandon was born with Cerebral Palsy, is 18 years old and has attended DLC since he was a baby. His Mother, Sarah works very hard to make ends meet, Brandon is one of 5 children. She was recently in a car accident, and her van was totaled, which is her primary source of transportation for Brandon and her other children. She only received $1,600 for her new van, which is nowhere near enough.  Right now, she’s driving her oldest son’s 93' Toyota Corolla, which would be fine if Brandon didn’t have special needs and a wheelchair. It is very difficult to transport him each day, since he weighs around 150 pounds and she lifts him by herself. Due to his cerebral Palsy, it is very difficult to get him in and out of the car, and he gets very cramped in the back seat.

Brandon’s mother would like to buy a van with a wheelchair lift but these vans cost in the range of $60,000-$80,000
