BG East "Road To Williamsport"

It was another memorable summer of baseball for the kids from Bowling Green East Little League. For the 2nd year in a row, the players from BG East are champions of District 1, Kentucky State champions and Great Lakes region champions. Since 1960, only one other league has ever repeated as Great Lakes or Central Region champions!
This year's team includes (as shown in the picture above) Front Row from left to right: Patrick Forbes, Mason Williams, Kyle Snyder, Jackson Moore, Davis Moran, Trent Warden and Turner Nottmeier. Back Row: Coach Matt Myers, Drew W olfram, Carson Myers, John Guthrie, Devin Obee, Isaiah Head, Coach Terry Obee, Spencer Newman, Tate Hanks, Manager Rick Kelley.
Playing in front of almost 5 million prime-time television viewers during its four games on ESPN, the team finished 2-2 at the Little League World Series and earned 3rd place in the United States division. For the past two years, over 10 million television viewers have seen Bowling Green East Little League on ESPN and ABC.
More importantly, the players were mature, polite, responsible and great ambassadors for our city, state and region. They were unflappable during interviews, handling the play-by-play commentary on ESPN, or performing on the field, whether it was a clutch pitch, throw or at-bat. They really grew up in the past 10 weeks.
Hats off to the parents, grandparents and fans for your undying support. We felt it and it was truly appreciated. And a special thanks to the coaching staff which has been together for this two-year run: Tony Jackson, Paul Kilgus, Matt Myers, Terry Obee and Steve Robertson. You're the best!
