Aloha! My name is Dylan Hooser and I am from the island of Kaua'i. I am a proud and active member of the Democratic Party as well as Young Democrat organizations.
Last month at our Hawai'i State Democratic Convention I, along with three other males and three other females, were elected from Congressional District 2 as delegates for Bernie Sanders to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from July 25-July 28 to represent the Aloha State of Hawai'i.
While this is an upmost honor to not only be elected by a majority in my state, but to be a delegate for such an amazing Presidential Candidate, it is extremely costly for me to attend this Convention. From airline tickets across the Pacific and then across the United States itself, as well as lodging each night - the cost really begins to add up quickly!
I am humbly asking for any and all help that you may be willing to offer to help get me to Philadelphia so that I may attend this historic Democratic National Convention. A $20, $50, or $100 donation - ANY help and support you may be willing to give helps me achieve not only a dream for myself, but for so many in our state and in this country.
Words cannot express the feelings that I get when I think about participating in this exciting new chapter in our nation's history. It is a dream and an honor to be able to represent Hawai'i, Kaua'i, and of course the revolutionist, Bernie Sanders.

QUICK BIO ABOUT MYSELF:
Memebers in my community and I have spent the last few years working hard to orangize people, working to uphold our grassroots values and progressive ideas. I am looking very forward to bringing that hard work and knowledge to the DNC. For many of us, this awakening started when we passed a bill regulating huge Agro-chemical companies poinsoning our island, but it has not stopped there. Shortly after that I attempted to run for Hawai'i's State House of Representatives, District Seat 15. While I was not succseccful in acheiving the position, it was an amazing oppurtunity to grow as an individual to further help our community. Since then I have been active in numerous other grassroots efforts, from passing a County-wide Resolution asking the state to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, flying to Oahu asking and testifying for further pesticide regulation, chairing the Kaua'i Young Democrats, going to Maui to support other neighbor-island efforts to regulate the GMO/chemical industry, and with the most recent effort educating and mobilizing voters in the recent Presidential Preference Poll.
People wonder why we do what we do, and my response is, "Once you look through the looking glass there is no going back; this isn't a job - it is a way of life." I look at the upcoming DNC as another step in moving our ideas forward, and ensuring they take root. I am asking, please help to support me in furthering these endeavors. This isn't about me, or what I can do, or what I have done. It is about us, and what we have done, and what we can do.
Together we can do anything.
