Natasha's DNC Fund

My name is Natasha Acevedo and I'm an official National Delegate for Bernie Sanders in El Paso, TX. I am not part of the 1%. I am the 99%. I am the minority. I work 45+ hours per week to live paycheck to paycheck. I graduated with two BAs to get me jobs that pay less than $15 an hour and have limited opportunity to continuing education to change this fact. So, when Bernie Sanders first announced he was running for President in August 2015, I knew I wanted to get involved.

I need help getting to Philly and funding my DNC trip while I'm there. If you don't know, the national convention in Philly is ridiculously overpriced. Not only does the Democratic Party "recommend" to stay in a hotel that is priced $500 per night, but it has become apparent that politics and policy has been designed for the very wealthy. It's for this reason alone that I need help to fund this trip.

Bernie speaks for all of us. He speaks for those who have very little and for those who have been forgotten. When his campaign came to El Paso (District 29) I was there every day between jobs, making phone calls, block walking, and just spreading the word. Bernie Sanders fueled the passion in my heart to get involved and to make a lasting difference that would impact our country. I have always been an activist, a die-hard feminist, part of the LBGTQ community, and this is no difference. We are not being heard, our voices have been replaced by the dollars in our bank accounts. It's time for that to change.

As a delegate for Bernie Sanders, I stand by his platform 100%. We need his policies, we need his voice, and we need a change in our oligarchy. It is time for democracy to be brought back to us, it is time for the people to be represented by their government, and it is time we rise up to the occasion.

Please help me represent our community, please help me get to Philly!
