Brent's Medical Expenses

Hi Everybody,
Anybody that knows me well knows I am a fix it person and a problem solver. Unfortunately, we have come across a problem that I cannot fix.
My husband, Brent was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with Stage IV colon and liver cancer at age 44. He had absolutely no symptoms until a month ago. He has been in and out of the hospital for the last 2 weeks. He is in severe pain every single day and can no longer work. He started a new job 6 weeks ago but did not qualify for health insurance until after 90 days. In the meantime, we got him a short term policy through Obama Care until his insurance became effective. We just learned that the insurance will not cover anything because they consider his cancer to be pre-existing as he went to the doctor with stomach pains 1 week prior to being diagnosed with cancer.
Surgery is not an option as the cancer is so bad. The oncologist wants to try chemo and radiation but now that he doesn't have insurance that will cover anything, we have to pay out of pocket for everything. Brent has not worked for 3 weeks and will not be going back to work due to the pain he is in every day and the "hopeful" future chemo and radiation treatments. The state won't help because I make too much money (laughable) and we have applied for Social Security Disability but that process can take up to 6 months. In the meantime, he has very expensive prescriptions as well as future doctor and treatment costs.
Our family including our 5 children are doing everything possible to pay for things, sell things and live a different lifestyle to pay for Brent's treatments. It is our hope that Brent can live long enough to see our 15-year-old daughter graduate from high school.
We are not the kind of people who ask for help and never fathomed we would be in this horrible predicament but I have exhausted any opportunity I can find to get help to pay for his medical bills. We are appreciative for any help that comes our way. I am NOT ready to lose the love of my life!!
