NUT CHECK book launch preorder

Hi,

I'm Tulsa self-published writer Joe Harwell. Since 2009, I have released eight novels and two memoirs set in Oklahoma and Arkansas, plus a tutorial on the writing and publishing process. Thanks to my faithful fan base, I am continuing to write novels set in this geographic area.  NUT CHECK, my third dramatic crime investigation novella set in Stillwater, OK is now available for preorder in print through September 30, 2016 at a reduced price for my loyal readers. The previous books in the series are Payne County Weekly and Mile of Cars Murders.

NUT CHECK opens as Guyla Herdison returns home to Stillwater after ten years in L.A. when her career tanks after being indicted, along with her pro baseball star ex-husband, for distribution of performance enhancing drugs. Narrowly avoiding jail time by testifying for the prosecution, Guyla's well-publicized troubles make finding employment difficult until a friend from high school offers an entry level job in home health care. Although the pay is low, she finds satisfaction in the work and signs up for all the overtime she can handle. As she becomes a competent and compassionate worker, Guyla realizes some of the people she's assigned to care for aren't really in need of assistance. Some are earning substantial money under the table doing work for cash, plus selling their pain meds and psychotropic drugs or trading them for illegal drugs.

A male patient she suspects is selling his pain meds grabs her inappropriately and Guyla goes to her supervisor who instructs her not rock the boat because he's well connected in Stillwater. Frustrated, she tips her friends LaShelle Roland and Bo Stark, publishers of Payne County Weekly, about the drugs this patient and others are selling and they begin an investigation. A few weeks later she’s groped more forcefully by the man. Guyla warns him to back off because the newspaper is looking into his drug trafficking, placing her life in danger from the revenge this powerful man will exact on her.

Preorders help offset my cost of bringing a book to market and I appreciate the support of readers of this series who have been asking for another installment.
