Declan Crowe here an Independent candidate in the south Kildare constituency for the upcoming general election 2016. I have been active since the begining of 2012 fighting austerity and the choices made by the previous two governments.
I am a founder member of Kildare CAWHT the campaign against household tax and water charges. I am married with two young children and am self employed in the construction sector.
When I saw that no one else was willing to stand for election on the platform that I and many others here in Kildare and all over Ireland had fought so hard and long against ,I felt I had to stand to offer a choice to the people who want a different Ireland.
I want a better, fairer and safer Ireland for all of us. That means starting here in Kildare to make it a better place to live and work in. The future is ours to make the most of, political party candidates put party loyalty first and you second, there is no future with them only more broken promises and more austerity.
Voting for me insures positive change for you, your county and your country.
Unlike the political parties who are funded by the taxpayers, I and other independents have to self fund and rely on you the public. The costs are enormous and the limit of €30,000 will be reached and broken by the party candidates, while I aim for €5000.
I need to get my message to every single home and person in south Kildare and that is what the money will be used for. An ad in one of the local papers costs around €250 as an example. Online and other media platforms are also just as expensive. I want to be able to compete at a level which lets people know that they have an option and what I stand for.
I need as much as possible as soon as possible as the date may not be set but the election is well and truly under way.
I want you to know that what ever you give will be very much appreciated and will help us all towards that better future we deserve.
