Ella's Story

Daniel and Louise are my nephew and niece. In February beautiful Ella was born, they have been struggling financially since then, even more so recently as Daniel was made redundant.
Ella's story (by mum and dad) Ella was born with bilateral generalized polymicrogyria. In short, she has too many folds on the surface of the brain which causes daily seizures, intellectual and physical disabilities. Ella also has absent corpus callosm, she is missing a band of white matter in her brain that transfers signals from one side of her brain to the other. Ella is profoundly deaf and has some issues with her vision. Ella is nasal tube fed because she is high risk of aspiration. We have been told Ella will never crawl or walk or talk. We have also been told she has a short life expectancy. We have heard that loud and clear from numerous doctors but that just sits in the back of our heads because we are too busy enjoying every moment we have with our beautiful little angel baby. Ella is the strongest person we have ever met and she may surprise many.
