Save Los Cerritos Wetlands

Tax deductible
Los Cerritos Wetlands is just a few hundred remaining acres of beleaguered and degraded wetlands along the Southern California coast that was once thousands of acres of a majestic estuary at the mouth of the San Gabriel River.   It’s been used and abused for the past 150 years and although it is a small speck on the globe it is nevertheless critical habitat for animals and birds, including endangered species.  Los Cerritos Wetlands is also vital habitat for migrating birds of the Pacific Flyway that fly thousands of miles from South America to North America and need it for foraging and resting layover.

El Dorado Audubon (Long Beach) needs help defending Los Cerritos Wetlands from further destruction due to rezoning and mitigation that will include high-rises around the wetlands, roads and trails through the wetlands, and other uses that will further harm this ESHA (environmentally sensitive habitat area).  We need your help to pay for our biologists and other experts to defend Los Cerritos Wetlands and its wild and wonderful inhabitants.  El Dorado Audubon is 100% volunteer supported but now we need help to be the voice for the creatures of Los Cerritos Wetlands that can’t speak and defend themselves.

Financial help is needed NOW because events are unfolding at this writing.  To learn more, go to www.lbds.onfo/seadip_update, www.lbds.info/planning/environmental_reports, www.eldoradoaudubon.org.

El Dorado Audubon, the birds, the fish, the crabs, the turtles, the bees, the butterflies and all the creatures thank you!
