I was elected as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention and it would be an honor if you supported my efforts to attend the Democratic National Convention by making a contribution. The convention this year will be held in Philadelphia from July 24 to July 29th. The convention costs for the Philadelphia convention are the most expensive in convention history. About me-
Twenty-two years ago, I moved to Dallas (in a U-Haul and with $600 in my pocket) for my first job. I fell in love with the community and I quickly got involved in both the community and the Democratic Party. Since then I have been a regular volunteer and leader for the party. I have done everything from phone banking, driving seniors to the polls (even cleaning the Democratic Party office bathroom) and since 2013 I have served on the Texas State Democratic Executive Committee as the Democratic Committeeman for the Texas 23rd Senate District.
Election as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention-
I was recently elected at the Texas Democratic Convention as a pledged national delegate for Hillary Clinton. I am so honored to be elected since 1000 Texas Democrats ran for the 148 national delegate spots. There are 20 national delegates for Hillary from Dallas County and I am 1 of the 4 LGBT delegates.
How will your contribution will be used? And why is Jeff asking for help?
DNC 2016 is the most expensive convention in history. It’s crazy and sad. The DNC hotel group rate for the assigned Texas delegation hotel is $565 a night. It’s a steep rate for the length of the convention and I need some help to fund. Funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will be used for hotel and transportation costs.
How soon are funds needed?
A deposit of $2200 will be charged by the hotel on Sunday, July 17 and I hope to raise as much as possible by that date.
