We are women with lived experience of homelessness. In an effort to reach out to others, we have formed a All Our Sisters Women's Advisory Group to help shape the 2016 national conference of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH).
We need funding to make it possible for women from coast to coast to coast to attend this conference, which will provide policy makers, fundraisers, researchers, advocates, community leaders and front-line workers with the inspiration, information, tools and training they need to end homelessness.

The money will be used to cover the cost of registration and travel fees for 30 women (30×$680+=$20,400+) and will be needed by August 30, 2016.
Professionals are important, but our voices also matter to make real change, as they come from actual experience.
Attendance at this important conference is not affordable to those who are currently homeless, nor to many who have suffered recent homelessness.
Women who become homeless suffer particular hardship in that they may be pregnant or raising children alone.
For us, participating in this conference will mean that we can become part of the solution, giving and receiving knowledge, expertise and ideas that we can take back to my our communities. It's an opportunity to be a peer mentor, to help others out of marginalization, and to increase self-confidence and empowerment.
We would be thankful to donors for their help with this awesome task of working to end homelessness, as we believe that this conference will be a vehicle for positive change. Not only the women, but their families will benefit. The next generation will have a better future.
