Imagine a world without pediatric cancer, diabetes, cerebral palsy or kidney disease where these conditions only exist in medical textbooks. Imagine a world where children are all healthy.
Our goal at McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation is to help make that world a reality. With the support of Tim and Charlotte Blevins and our community, we have launched a campaign to raise $650,000 to create a state-of-the-art clinic to provide life-saving care to children who are born with kidney disease or develop acute kidney issues. The Caring for Little Kidney’s Campaign will improve and save the lives of children who cannot live without treatment and dialysis.

McMaster Children’s Hospital was created 27 years ago to ensure that children in south-central Ontario have access to the specialized health care that they need and deserve. Today, we are recognized internationally as a leader in patient care and research. We are a haven of hope and healing for the 600,000 children that live in our region. But our work isn’t possible without you. Government funding supports us in many ways, but it does not provide support for equipment and many special projects.
We rely on the generous gifts of our community to improve health care for our children across our region and beyond. When you support the Caring for the Little Kidneys Campaign you will be supporting one of Canada’s best facilities for pediatric dialysis and kidney care. McMaster Children’s Hospital’s team of specialists offers skill, experience and compassion to every child that walks through our doors.

Our facilities are designed to serve the most critically ill children with sophisticated equipment, compassionate care in an environment that is both welcoming and healing to children and their families. Your support of the Caring for Little Kidney’s Campaign will make the dream of a customized clinic for these special children a reality.
Understanding that "children are not small adults," we are paying utmost attention to the social and emotional needs of the children and their families who use this clinic. Our design team has created a cheerful and reassuring environment for these critically sick children and their concerned families. Child-friendly décor begins at the inviting and distinctive entrance and continues in the beautiful open floor plan that offers comfort and dignity to patients who undergo treatment for hours at a time, several times a week, often for years.
Our hospital has a talented and committed group of doctors, nurses, clinicians and social workers who are among the best in their field all working together to provide each patient with the best care, best experience and best result possible.
