Hello there my name is Shanice Jefferson. I am a 23 year old female who has been accepted to study abroad in Canada at Capilano University studying the Visual Effects program there. I have always had a fascination about computers and how you can use them to make amazing art. I went to Southeastern Louisiana University for Computer Science and I minored in Animation/VFX in 2011. My teacher, video games, cartoons and movies inspired me to pursue this career. Back when I was studying at SELU I became ill with a bacterial infection of the stomach. It hindered my studies, could not work, walk or be social. After I got better I wanted to study abroad but with the medical bills I could not afford it. I let that get in the way and that will not happen anymore! I am going to leap like I do as a skydiver. I have worked on a few projects myself and I love seeing all the long hours and hard work pay off. I am not the best artist but that is why I want to go to school and soak in all that wonderful knowledge! I want to see my name in the movies, I want to be sucessful in this industry and school wise be the top of my class. The school looks great, the atmosphere, it is located in Vancouver, teachers that are in the industry will be teaching me, this will be the hightlight of my college career and make everything that I have gone through worth it! According to the school international students must pay $5,000 deposit . With that money it will cover some of my tuition, books, lab fees, permits, insurance etc. The extra $1,000 will go towards a months rent. I do plan on working while I am studying so I can pay for rent, transportation, food and any other fees that may occur. I have been tirelessly
applying for millions of scholarships and I am losing sleep a bit but I never wanted something so badly! I believe with just a little help from friends, family and to newcomers supporting me I will be able to go to school and finally pursue my dreams again.
I am usually the one not to ask for help even if I am struggling so for me to ask for help is a huge deal. I REALLY would LOVE to go to this school because I have put this school on hold due to finances. I was always afraid to ask for help, always unsure if I told everyone I wanted to study abroad they would look at me crazy but then I started to do research and ask people about their experiences. Truth is they say it is the best expereince they have ever done and have no regrets.... or should I say no "REGRATS" Say wahhh.
Fast forward..
I know this is a lot to ask for, today I asked what makes my campaign so special but truth is from what I have been told I do not have many people in my family that go to college and I am at my point in my life where I will go the extra mile to make my dreams a reality.
I am forever thankful for yall's support and I will send postcards to everyone showing you my travels and studies. Subscribe so yall can see where your money is going.! Yall will be supporting a young woman so she can follow her goal that she has set in life. Thank you and God bless!
