Release Our Son

Jesus Hector Altamirano, 29, has been under the custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for the last 10 months. His parents are desperate because they have not been able to raise the $15,000 they are asking them to release him.

Hector Jesus was arrested in July 2015 when he went to ICE to apologize because he had not been able to attend an appointment. 

And he did not attend because he was arrested by sheriff's deputies in Los Angeles when he did not pay the ticket he got for not paying fare to ride Metro, the rail service in Los Angeles county.

Antonia Guardado, Jesus Hector Altamirano’s mother, said that it is hard for them to pay the bond requested by ICE because her husband’s salary as a cook is very low.

Hector Jesus Altamirano was brought by her parents from Mexico to the United States when he was nine months old. He has never been in Mexico, nor has anyone there that can help him settle in his parents ‘country.

Therefore, his parents are asking for donations to collect the 15,000 bail they have requested them to release the young man, so he can be able to fight for his case out of jail.

Once we get back the $15,000 we need to raise to release our son, we would like to use it to help people in custody of ICE pay for their bails.

Many low-income families go through the same drama and anguish experienced by the Guardado family since they cannot afford the high bail requested by ICE, forcing immigrants to spend years under the custody of ICE.

That is why they are so desperately begging for donations to gather the $15,000 to help free Hector Jesus Altamirano and reunite him with his parents.
