Help "Harry" the dog with mange

Donation protected

I first discovered this dog when I was working in sucker river. Sucker River is approximately 30 minutes north of la ronge. There is no vet in LA ronge and the closest place he can get treatment is in Prince Albert which is 2 and a half hours south of la ronge.

Many people from Sucker River Indian Reserve tried to help us get this dog over the past few days. Everyone that we talked to wanted to get this dog help but no one had the finances to be able to help this stray dog. Many of the people fed it and all of the other stray dogs in the area whenever they could.

My girlfriend and I rescue dogs and I knew that once she found out about it we wouldn't give up until we finally found it. We searched around the community for 4 days each day spending a few hours searching for it. We spent our whole weekend searching for Harry. It took a total of about 20 hours trying to find and catch the dog. There was a few times that we had almost caught it but it managed to slip away.

On Saturday, January 30, 2016 we got a donation of a dog house so we hauled that out to sucker river along with food and hay. One of the concerned citizens let us put the dog house in his yard because he feeds and looks after the local stray dogs.
Harry was determined not to get caught in our live trap.

On Sunday January 31, 2016 we had a light snowfall and a later start to our day. As we got into sucker river we thought we would go check on the dog house that we had just set up the previous day, but before we got there a local man stopped us and wanted us to check on his dog who had just got hit. It was the third dog that got ran into that weekend. After we checked on the man's dog we headed back up the road to go check out the dog house again, and to our luck "Harry" was inside. My girlfriend ran up to the dog house and blocked "Harry" from escaping and she said to him "it's time to get help now" and "Harry" just stayed there. Then I went to another house to get our live trap Kennel to put him in. "Harry" struggled a little bit but we managed to get him into the Kennel. We still can't believe we actual got him.

"Harry" has a long road to recovery but is strong enough to make it through this. Mange treatment can get very expensive, we do not usually ask for help but we are unable to financially fund this ourselves. 100% of the donated funds will go towards Harrys vet bill but if there is anything left over we will put it into an emergency fund to be able to help more dogs like Harry. We are independent dog rescuers. Harry will be going to Corman Park Vet.
We are on our way to deliver the dog tonight (Sunday January 31) it will be a late night for the both of us but it is worth it!

I Korbin Parada and my girlfriend Charlene Berard thank everyone for taking the time to read this and for donating, every dollar counts. I would also like to thank Linda and Joe Hordyski for letting us use their dog Kennel while we got ready for the trip. They are truly angels. Also thanks to Brent Arstall for being the one who will be looking after Harry
