My Dream to help Grieving Children

My name is Carol and I have just finished my 3rd year of Applied psychology. I have one year left before gaining my BSc Hon and hope to have a Venue secured in which Children suffering grief can come together, play, and engage in various games together and individually to help them through their grief.
The money will be used to secure a venue and purchase computers, printers and various other office equipment in central Edinburgh, so as it is easily accessible to anyone who needs this service from across Scotland.
Grieving can cause several mental health issues in later life if a child is not able to get through this. Grieving is caused by bereavement of a close family member, however it is also a condition that Children in Care can suffer. A child in care has effectively lost the parent they were removed from, although this may be for legitimate reasons, the child is still left still missing their parent/s. There is a huge gap in Scotland for this type of support for children, as a carer myself I know that the child we care for was not offered any support for this. I also know many children in care, and none of them have been offered support to grieve for their lost family members. Children who lose someone through bereavement or through care not only lose their parents or loved ones, but they lose their loved ones contacts too. this is a huge burden on a child with no-one to help support them professionally. Waiting lists for any type of mental health support are only climbing higher and a high number of Adult mental health issues actually stem from childhood. It would mean everything to me if I could help children get passed this and grow into healthy happy adults. There are far too many harsh reality's for children to deal with in care and through bereavement. If I could be there to help improve their little lives, I would know I had done something good and that would mean the world to me.
I would be extremely thankful for any donations to help me turn this idea into reality, into my dream. I went to university with the sole notion of helping as many children as I could, but did not know how. I have learned so much and no doubt have much more to learn from children themselves. All children are our future not just the neuro-typical ones, I can't express how thankful I would be to have the privilege of helping the next generation of adults.
