Colleen's Fighting Fund
Colleen has been battling cancer since the beginning of last year, with set back after set back. Now at stage 4, this money will go towards whatever Coll and her gorgeous family need; a holiday, to parachute jump out of a plane or to simply pay some bills.
I know that we're usually asked to donate to a specific charity organisation but this is a chance to donate to a real person and make a real difference to one person and her family's life. Coll and her family are an inspiration; strong, resilient and endlessly positive but everyone, no matter how awesome they are, needs a little helping hand sometimes.
Come Sunday October 16th I'll be pulling on the runners to get to the Melbourne Marathon finish line. Any donation big, small or smaller would be appreciated in the biggest way, so please help me reach my target. I will be forever thankful.
It was an absolute team effort, firstly from Colleen who is the reason so much money was raised and secondly from all of you; the beautiful, caring, generous people who dug deep in their pockets to help someone in need. I ran the marathon but the thing is, I could've run 1km up the road and there still would've been the same level of donations. People wanted to donate to Colleen, Stew and Carissa because they were in need and are loved not because I was running a marathon.
I can't thank enough all of the people that supported me in getting to the finish line through babysitting, words of encouragement, advice and training. You are all legends and I couldn't have done it without you.
I was always going to run the marathon this year but I am so glad I decided to do it for a reason other than just the bucket list. I started with a goal of $500 but I never imagined that, that would become over $6000.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are all legends xxx
If you'd like to help raise as much as possible for my amazing neighbors and friends Stew and Carissa, please follow the link xx
Two weeks is no time at all, so if you've been intending to donate but keep forgetting to get around to it, now is the time to take a moment and do it. It would be great to hit the $5000 mark for Stew and Carissa (and Colleen xx) and do what we can to help them. xxxx
I'm still running the marathon in October because now it's about helping Stew and Carissa get back on their feet and helping them to look towards the future with something in the bank that makes that future easier.
I'm hoping that Colleen will be out there on the day with me; giving me a shove up any hills and maybe having a quiet word to Mother Nature about organizing some tail winds. RIP lovely Colleen. You will be missed by all who knew you forever xx
