My name is Tracie I am a friend and co-worker of Shala's. She gave me permission to create this fund for them.
As most of you know Guy has been at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco since May 9th battling complications due to Crohn’s Disease. He battled weeks of fevers, infection and inflammation too risky to do the needed surgery. He had a NG tube (the tube that goes up the nose into him tummy) for a few days and also had 3 drains in his abdominal walls, But as of yesterday all that was taken out. He is on the mend. He doesn't have a fever anymore and his heart rate is basically back to normal. However, he has a long road ahead of him. He still has a picc line, is still on TPN and getting antibiotics every 6 hours (Flagyl) and 8 hours (vancomycin) and he is still on pain meds. The surgeon came in today and said they are shooting for surgery Monday or Tuesday to remove some of his colon and bowel.
He hasn't seen his kids except when they FaceTime. The girls are really upset that daddy is sick and not home and Reece keeps yelling for Daddy. Sadly, Guy missed Reece’s 2nd Birthday. Shala tries to go and see Guy as much as possible but during the week she her help is limited with the kids as her family works and she cannot afford daycare right now. Shala has taken leave from work to take care of her kids (her work hours were when Guy was home in the evenings). She will also need to take care of Guy once he is finally able to come home.
As you can imagine with no real income coming in the financial stress is starting to take a burden on them. Any amount that you can help with will be truly appreciated. Please pray for the Louis Family!
