Hello all!
I'm Amber and thanks to the outrageous generosity of my community and some very kind strangers I am an acting student at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Thanks to the Wirral community who I reached out to with events and bombarded with letters and leaflets, the wonderful Olivia Rae Foundation and to the incredible Mitchell Group in Chesire Oaks who hosted my one woman show, I managed to raise the fees for the Masters in Acting that I am currently studying on. This means that since September I have been trained by some of the nation's leading acting, voice and movement coaches. I have become qualified in Stage Combat (Rapier and Dagger, Single Sword and Unarmed Combat) and Period Dance (including the Jive, Tango, Meringue and more). I have also just been graded First Honours in my Clowning Assessment and been cast in the first show of the year which will be The Wonderful World of Dissocia by Antony Neilson and goes up in April.
With the course being an intensive 1 year of conservatoire training, the contact hours are extremely high. To give you an idea of life at Central, a typical day for me looks like this:
9am- 11am Voice
11am-1pm Movement
2-6pm Acting
6-9pm Stage Combat/ Period Dance
It is difficult to fit work in around the schedule. I currently hostess in a nightclub on weekends and will continue to do so to save money, but with this in mind, I am asking for any donations at all to help towards the extortionate cost of living in London.
