Medical Volunteering in Nicaragua
Donation protected
I'm a Junior Pre-med student at Texas A&M University in College Station. I joined an orginazation called AMSA (American Medical Student Association) and was introduced to a once in a lifetime trip to go to Nicaragua and provide medical care to remote villages that are without access to a doctor. I have been on a few mission trips in the past where I helped the community by providing food and sometimes helping the orginization provide shelter for those in danger in other countries. However this trip is much different. We are planning to fly into Nicaragua the day after Christmas and we will be staying through New Years. We will be working everyday from sun up till sun down providing the towns with the care they need. We are planning on working in teams to take in patients, listen to their issues, perform diagnostic tests, and make assessments. We will also be providing general care, supplying them with medications and vitamins (which we are paying for), as well as giving them dental care. House calls will also be made to those who cannot commute to the clinic. Your fincancial assistance is more than appreciated and will help more people than you realize. This trip is being organized by "Global Health Outreach" if you would like to do any research into their purpose. Thank you!
