KC's 1ST LGBTQ Historical Marker

For the past year, the LGBT-KC committee for which I volunteer has been planning to install and dedicate Kansas City, Missouri's, FIRST LGBT-related historical marker commemorating the 50th anniversary of the "gay liberation" movement's launch in KC in 1966 (3 years before the Stonewall Riots).
The marker recognizes pioneer LGBTQ folks, including one of the leading organizers, Drew Shafer.
We'd love to host Shafer's surviving partner, Mickey Ray, to be included as a BIGpart of the week-long festivities that will take place between October 16-20, 2016; but, do not have a budget or income source.
We hope LGBTQ&A friends will crowd-raise the funds to GET MICKEY RAY TO KC! The funds will solely pay for Mickey's airfare, room/board, and in-town transportation.
