Hello!
My name is Arne Nelson and I am honored to have been elected as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention for Bernie Sanders. I live in Northern Kitsap County and work as a watch repairman. When I'm not working I spend time helping my grandparents navigate their twilight years and volunteering at the Bremerton Foodline food bank.
I am a young and committed political activist. I believe in walking the talk in life. I have taken a gap year from college to make a difference because I was inspired to do so by Senator Sanders's campaign over the last 9 months. Over the course of my short tenure this past year, I have helped restart the Young Democrats in Kitsap County, made thousands of calls for my childhood school district which culminated in a successful bond levy ensuring the replacement of a 70 year old high school, and currently work as the coordinator of voter registration drives at local high schools. I attend local Democratic meetings, serve as Director of Current Affairs for the Young Democrats of Washington and recently participated as one of the many authors of the Washington State Democratic platform. I firmly believe that I can best carry out my civic duty through principled and knowledgeable political involvement.
I am fundraising to fulfill my duties as a delegate in Philadelphia at the DNC this July. .
The cost of being able to fulfill this role is a hefty one for a watch repairman coming in at 3000 dollars for travel and lodging expenses.
