My name is Darius Geldenhuys and my wife’s name is Ilona. We live in Tzaneen, Limpopo province South Africa. We are the proud parents of 3-year old Imke and our six-month-old Identical twins, Anebelle & Zielke Geldenhuys. We as the Geldenhuys family is in need of your support for our daughter Imke.
On the 2nd of February 2016, Imke was diagnosed with Stage 4 High-Risk Neuroblastoma. A large growth mass was found above her left kidney, arising from the left suprarenal fossa, measuring 10x8x11cm in size. Unfortunately, the growth has also spread to her bone marrow.
After about 12 sessions of chemotherapy, further CT scans were conducted (dated 15 April 2016) indicated a large, partially calcified mass in the left suprarenal region...The scan confirmed that the growth had miraculously shrunk measuring 5.5x2.7x2.9cm in size...we were extremely thankful for this good news.
A scheduled surgery on the 30th of May was done to remove the growth...we thank Father God that the tumor was removed with no complications & Imke recovered well for 6 days in ICU. Next step would've been a bone marrow transplant (BMT)...but Unfortunately, the treating Oncologist at that stage has told us that there is no proven evidence of a successful Neuroblastoma High Risk stage 4 BMT done in South Africa & the overall survival rate is 0%. They couldn't give us any proven evidence.
Since receiving this devastating news myself & my wife ilona have spent night & day doing research & have found that the best hope for Imke’s survival would be receiving the required Immunotherapy Treatment that is unfortunately not available in South Africa. We need to get Imke abroad for the Immunotherapy.
We have not asked for any money before this, but now we urgently need further financial support to save Imke’s life & get her the best possible treatment. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital in the United States NY demonstrated proven evidence of survivors with advanced Immunotherapy treatment. We believe God guided us in this direction, He opened so many doors for us & given us favour & this has given us so much peace & hope for Imke. This has been such a journey of faith. We have learned to Trust Him surrender totally...He is so Faithful.
An estimate costing were given to us from MSKCC of $700 000US for the 5cycles Immunotheraphy. Friends & Family & Strangers all over the world have been working non-stop on Fundraisings, Projects & ways to help us get to the estimate costing, Supernaturally & through His Grace we managed to have raised almost R7million which is paid into the Gofundme & Imke's Trust Fund with a shortfall of only about R2.5million.

Current Treatment with Donald Gordan Hospital using the NY Protocol. Imke had her 1st 24/5 Chemo Treatment, whereby she had to recover in Isolation for almost 3 weeks. Then another 24/5 Chemo (24 hrs / 5 days). This is scheduled within the next 2 weeks. After the 15th August chemotherapy treatment Imke needs to recover & then we will be going to NY Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in NY for Imke's Immunotheraphy treatment. Starting from 15th September 2016.
