Dear Friend,
The Democratic National Committee is made up of party insiders. A portion of the Committee are paid lobbyists. The nominating process they have established increases the power of these "core members" by making the total of their votes count for fifteen-percent of the total delegation. Thus, an insurgent candidate starts out with a significant disadvantage. As you may have noticed, a candidate can receive more of the popular vote in a particular state, and still walk away with less delegates. This contradicts a main tenet of our democracy, namely "one person, one vote."
I am an attorney in New York who is fighting to change this rigged system. I have represented workers and union members in the past. Now I would like to represent Democratic party voters so that their voices can be heard.
I have already dedicated approximately seventy-five hours to developing the strategy to abolish the super delegate rule. I believe I have a very sound strategy. I plan to dedicate at least that much going forward.
I am requesting that you support my efforts to take the "Party of the people" back for its rightful owners. Your contribution will assist with court costs and a small hourly fee for my services.
Can you make a contribution of $25 or more to help fund this effort?
Thank you for your support.
