Medical Mission to Haiti

My name is Megan, and I am a student at the Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing in Richmond, Virginia. I have been selected to serve on the school's Global Outreach team, providing medical care in a pop-up clinic in the central highlands of Haiti for one week in March 2018. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, and the Central Highlands is one of the more remote and rural areas of this country. Access to medical care is very limited, and residents will walk several miles for the opportunity to wait in line for hours to get treatment.

Although the members of the team freely volunteer their time and efforts in providing these services, there are ancillary costs involved such as airfare and necessary medical supplies. The costs for each member of the team to be able to make this trip possible is $1500. By meeting this goal we will be able to help to treat illness and promote good health in a population that has some of the fewest resources.

Although direct donations to the team through our own website are preferred, I know that not everyone will be able to donate the $25 minimum that the direct donation site allows. Thus, this page makes donations possible in smaller amounts.
