Ryan Joseph “Looty” Atkinson, loving son of Michael and Ginny Atkinson, was called to heaven unexpectedly on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the age of 5 1/2 months. Ryan was born on November 17, 2015 in Charlottesville. From the moment he was born, he was loved deeply by all. His love for life was evident by his constant smile and joyful cooing. Ryan brought an enormous amount of joy to the lives of everyone around him. He was, and will forever be, our sunshine.
The loss of a child is something no parent should ever have to experience. As their friends and family, our hearts are breaking for them. We know that there will be tough times ahead as they help big brother Ian face things no 4 year old should have to go through, all the while dealing with their own grief. Many have asked what they can do to help. With Ginny and Michael facing medical and burial expenses for their dear son, Ryan, we are hoping to raise enough money to ease the financial burdon. Anything helps. If you can't help financially, please leave a prayer or message, as kind words mean more than you can imagine.
