I am BEYOND honored to be your Miss North Carolina International! I am so excited to represent our great Tar Heel state!
With this title, I will continue to speak out about my platform, Broken By Battle - Fighting the Invisible War of PTSD, in order to bring awareness to an issue many of our nation's service men and women face every day.
This platform is very near and dear to my heart. For years, my mother, sister and I watched deployment after deployment as my Army father was sent overseas. I saw how PTSD hurt my own family because he never really came back from war.
It didn't stop there. As a television reporter, I've covered terrible stories and seen in heartbreaking detail the fallout of our nation's bravest heroes.
That's when I knew I had to do something. My goal is ensure service members know that the battle they are fighting today can, and will be better tomorrow.
In July I will be competing for the title of Miss International in Jacksonville, Florida. This is an opportunity of a lifetime! However, I need help covering pageant costs. These costs include:
-Preparation fees (hair, make-up, supplies)
-Wardrobe (gowns, interview outfit, fitness wear)
-Training/coaching
-Travel to and from pageant
-Hotel stay pageant week
-Miscellaneous expenses
