Ryan's Delegate Trip to Philly

Hello! I'm Ryan Hamann, a soon-to-be college graduate from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I was recently elected to be a delegate for Bernie Sanders from Wisconsin's 6th Congressional District at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in July. Given that I'm just 22 years old, this is my first time being so involved in the political process, and it's all very exciting. I wanted to be a delegate to ensure that the voices in my county, which voted overwhelmingly for Bernie Sanders, were accurately represented at the convention, regardless of what the outcome ultimately is.

The problem that I've run into, however, is the cost. The hotels that the convention has booked for the delegates and attendants of the event cost almost $400/night. Being that I will have only just recently graduated from college, I'm going to be utterly broke. The convention lasts for three nights, from July 25th to the 28th, which is going to put the bill at $1200 for just the hotel alone. Now, I'm sure you might be asking, "Well, why don't you just stay somewhere else?" Okay, fair point, but consider this: We (the delegates) have to be at the morning meeting at the official hotel every day, so I'd need to wake up early and find a way to get to the meeting. While this would be okay, I'd then need to gather funds not only for the hotel that I'd chosen but also for public transportation costs. None of this is factoring in food expenses either.

All things considered, I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to need some help to get to Philly and stay there. Any donations are greatly appreciated. I thank anyone and everyone in advance for helping me on my journey!
