Isaac's Eye Surgery Fund

Donation protected
May 25, 1984, my brother Isaac and I, at the ages of 2 & 3, were playing in our room. I was too young to remember now exactly what happened but my brother sustained an injury to his eye. By the next morning he was having his first surgery because he had a laceration to the cornea.  Over the next few years he endured numerous surgeries to correct damage, attempts at restoring vision, cure infection, and remove cataracts.

These surgeries were very hard on him and our parents. With very little money and three kids to raise, there were times they didn't even have the money to buy the medicine he needed. Many of these surgeries were in Atlanta so she would have to take time off work and drive a car that barely ran, putting 2 quarts of oil in the car before each trip, stop halfway to put more oil in, and pray the whole way that they would make it. His last surgery was January 1985.

Isaac is use to only seeing out of one eye and has never had any problems until January, 2013 when he was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. At that time, a CT scan revealed at 3 mm foreign body in his eye. Afterwards, doctors suggested surgery as an option. In the beginning of 2015, he started experiencing severe pain and discomfort that persisted until 2016.

He's decided he needs relief from the pain. Doctors suggest he needs a series of 4 operations. The first of which is a corneal transplant which will then allow a team of other doctors to see into the retina, locate the foreign body that may be causing the pain, and remove it.
Future surgeries will include a retinal surgery, a surgery to straighten the eye as possibly even restore some vision.

For those of you who know Isaac, you'll understand how much this will mean to him. Not only will it relieve the pain, it will also correct the way the eye looks and hopefully allow him to see from it.

Any money donated will be used 100% to fund these surgeries and any amount given will be greatly appreciate. I'm creating this page for by brother because I know that he would never ask for this himself. And he needs these surgeries so very badly.

Thank you so much.
