Jordan's Camp A Cappella Fund

Hey guys! My name is Jordan Kendrick and I currently attend the University of North Texas, where I will be a sophomore in the fall. I created this GoFundMe page to help raise money, so that I may be able to attend Camp A Cappella next month in Dayton, Ohio.
My interest in a cappella music started when I was a freshman in high school. I was captivated by the idea of music being performed with only voices. There was something about it that inspired me. My love for a cappella only continued to grow when I was a sophomore in high school, as I started learning to beatbox. For the next few years I would spend a lot of time learning to make new and weird sounds with my mouth. In the fall of 2015, I was chosen to be the vocal percussionist for UNT’s premiere co-ed a cappella group, The Green Tones. Being a part of this group has been a wonderful opportunity. Through our hard work and dedication, we were invited to compete in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). At the Quarterfinals of the competition, we won the award for Outstanding Choreography and I received the award for Outstanding Vocal Percussion. We took home 2nd place and advanced to the ICCA Semifinals for the first time in the history of the Green Tones. Overall, this year has been full of many great experiences and my love for a cappella music has grown stronger.
Recently, I found out about Camp A Cappella. It is a summer camp for a cappella enthusiasts of all ages. If I could attend this camp, I would have to opportunity to perform with many talented individuals and attend classes to learn about sound recording, production, and more from professionals in the industry. These are things that I would like to pursue a career in, so the experience that I could gain at this camp would be essential. This is something I am very passionate about, and going to this camp would be an amazing opportunity. So, I started this GoFundMe so that I may be able to raise the money to cover the tuition of the camp along with travel costs.
