Oak Ridge Greenhouse
Donation protected
I am a teacher at the Oak Ridge School in Sandwich, MA. We started a new, amazing class this year for our students called Exploring the 7Cs . The 7Cs stand for 21st century skills: curiosity, character, critical thinking, community, collaboration, communication, and creativity. All of our students get to take part in this innovative class each week.
Our BIG project this first year was to design and build a greenhouse out of recycled water bottles. With the help of our community we made it happen! Students collected, cleaned, cut, and built with 3,700 water bottles. Now that the greenhouse is built we are in need of shelving for our plants, gardening tools for our students, wireless thermometer, pots, soil, and seeds to plant.
With the funds that we raise we will buy the supplies we need to get our greenhouse up and running. We will be using the greenhouse through the end of this school year, and then starting up again in the Fall.
This greenhouse means a lot to our school community, because everyone had a part in helping to build it. To begin our next step, we need shelves to start our seeds on as soon as possible. The students are extremely enthusiastic and can't wait to see plants growing in the greenhouse!
We greatly appreciate any help you can give us. Thank you for donating to our greenhouse :)! For teacher appreciation week, GoFundMe will give $100 donation to our project!! #ThankATeacher
