Rape victim needs helping hand

Donation protected
Three weeks ago I found this lovely young woman on the curb at Walmart, crying and homeless. She came to SA 3 years ago in hopes of a relationship with her birth mother, but was rejected. 4 days later she was brutally gang raped by homeless men, thrown from a 2nd story balcony and left for dead. When she was found, they did not find all the bones that had been crushed and splintered in her leg and foot. The doctors had to choose what to focus on. They focused on saving her flesh and bone was secondary.

Becca was in the hospital for 8 months, undergoing massive surgeries, including oral surgery. Her skull had been cracked and her mouth ... broken. She has a warm, open and beautiful smile, missing only one straight white tooth.

After being released from the hospital, she had nowhere to go and no one to look out for her. Becca was left homeless. She has had no help in dealing with these major traumas; no counseling, spiritual or emotional or physical support; no real love, or even a safe place to sleep. For 2 years Becca has been living on the street.

Becca has a college education and admiral work ethic and moral code. She is warm, ingratiating, humble, thoughtful, generous, kind and has a terrific sense of humor.

The Lord lead me to Becca for a reason and I am honored that He did. She's been homeless and in poverty because of extremely cruel circumstances and because she had no one to lean on for the help she needed. Even so, she is drug and alcohol free, takes care of herself and her hygiene, and ministers acceptance, encouragement and friendship to others in her situation. If I were in Becca's situation, I would never have demonstrated the courage and faith that she has. It is truly an honor to be given the opportunity to help this woman out of this dungeon and to get her life back.

I have found an awesome place in Austin where she can receive emotional, spiritual and physical healing that she so desperately needs. It is an answered prayer. It's a home for women just like Becca. She will have a safe, quiet home. She will have the benefit of loving, supportive, helpful, effective ministry. They will walk arm in arm with her, to help her get her life back.

The room cost per month is $480; she must provide her own food and essentials. She must find employment -which she is eager to do- and get there on her own. She will need to pay for doctors visits and prescriptions to treat some medical issues that she has as a result of her attack & living on the street.

I am very proud of my friend. She has more courage than anyone I have ever known. She has not become bitter, she loves the Lord, and she gives what little she ever has to help other people.

Please help me finance my friend's stay in this great home, where she can be nurtured and healed and get her life back. I'm asking for 6 months of basic needs, so that she can find work, and save enough $ to provide for herself.

I cannot wait to witness Becca's transformation and her rise from the ashes. She is a beautiful, precious, wonderful young woman who deserves much better than what she's been dealt. Please help me
